WWE Hall of Famer heavily booed during Raw’s premiere on Netflix

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was heavily booed during Monday’s premiere episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix, which aired live from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA.

As Scott Fishman tweeted out on X, with the negative fan reaction, you would think we were back at Bash at the Beach 1996.

Hogan ignored the boos from the crowd and continued on with his his promo, as he name dropped Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and then thanking the fans for being his best tag team partner and sticking with him over the years. However, those closing remarks still did not make any bit of difference, as the fans continued to boo him right up until the end of the segment. He was accompanied by fellow WWE Hall of Famer “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart who was waving an American Flag in the background.

His appearance on the show, came the same day that WWE and Hogan’s Real American Beer announced a multi-year partnership.

Unfortunately Hogan’s reputation and career over the years has been tarnished following a sex tape from 2007 was leaked in 2015, where Hogan was filmed without his consent. In the video, Hogan used repeated racial slurs and even referred to himself as a racist. Soon after the video was made public, WWE terminated their contract with Hogan. However, he was re-hired by the company in 2018. Hogan also tends to come off as dishonest during interviews.

in 2016, Hogan sued Gawker Media, who released the tape. A St. Petersburg jury sided with Hogan and awarded him $115 million in damages.

The 71-year old Hogan also stirred up controversy when he spoke at the 2024 Republic National Convention, endorsing fellow WWE Celebrity Hall of Famer Donald Trump for President of the United States.

Monday night’s negative fan reaction with Hogan essentially being booed out of the building was also picked up by mainstream media outlets such as Variety and Deadline.
