AEW Worlds End Post Media Scrum Highlights: FTR, Adam Copeland, WWE in Orlando on the same night and more!

Below are some highlights from the AEW Worlds End Post Media Scrum that took place following Saturday night’s pay-per-view at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, FL.

Adam Copeland and FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler)

Adam Copeland said that he has been cleared for an in-ring return for a while, but talked to Tony Khan and decided to stay home in order to deal with the fallout from hurricane Helene in Asheville, North Carolina. He said that his family has been brushing their teeth with bottled water for the last three months. He then said that he was lucky to work somewhere where things like that could take priority.

Copeland also said he and FTR plan to go after the AEW World Tag Team and AEW World Trios Titles. He then said he’ll go after current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in a match that has never been seen before, that is a gritty, grinding match similar to a old NWA World Heavyweight title match. He then said it will happen sooner than later.

Copeland said regarding his broken leg, that he enjoyed rehabbing his injury, as he likes the challenge of proving he can come back from injuries such as this.

Cash Wheeler spoke on his friendship with Dax Harwood and Adam Copeland. Wheeler said all three are legitimate best friends and communicate all the time. He noted that he had been dealing with family issues of late and the only thing that got him on a plane to be at the pay-per-view was was to be with Harwood and Copeland.

Dax Harwood said that the plan originally was not for Fight for the Fallen to be in Asheville, but Tony Khan came up with the idea to do Dynamite there and donate the money to charity.

Someone asked if the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City could be a holiday tradition moving forward. Tony Khan said he was very open to the idea and hyped up the success of the all the shows that took place and the venue last week.

Wrestling Observer’s Corey Lieb asked about the negativity online and if AEW had a way to combat that going into 2025. Khan said there were people that poked holes in the success of last year’s All In despite selling over 80,000 tickets at Wembley Stadium. He then said that there were many favorable figures about AEW including how AEW fans are loyal to the product and he had learned things about the company through their recent media rights deal negotiations that he did not know.

Khan was asked about the success of Worlds End and WWE holding a Holiday Tour House Show also in Orlando on the same night at the KIA Center, which is just 20 minutes west of the Addition Financial Arena on the campus of the University of Central Florida.

Khan responded by saying the following:

“It’s great for the city of Orlando with two major pro wrestling events happening on the same night. There were thousands and thousands of fans at both shows. We had a capacity crowd here. It was so great being here at UCF. This arena has been a tremendous host, and for us and the community, it was great to have such amazing support from the fans. It shows how strong worldwide pro wrestling, particularly here in the United States, is to have in one major American city with two promotions running head-to-head on the same night, to have two great crowds. I know our fans here were awesome, and it was a great show tonight, thanks to the Orlando fans. They were tremendous.”

At the time of this writing, published from 16 hours ago by WrestleTix, AEW Worlds End had a crowd of 6,711 and a set-up for 7,028 fans, with 317 tickets that were still available. Also per WrestleTix, which they published 17 hours ago at the time of this writing, WWE’s Holiday Tour House Show had a crowd of 8,108 with a set-up of 9,177 and 1,069 tickets that were still available.
