During an appearance at the UBS Global Media & Communications Conference, TKO chief operating officer Mark Shapiro was asked about the possibility of the group expanding more of their WWE premium live events to two days.
Shapiro seemed positive on the idea, stating:
There’s definitely an opportunity for that. It’s all a progression, a natural evolution.
Shapiro expanded upon this by noting that such plans would be dependent upon the partners involved, and that the company is in a good place with their storylines in how they weave throughout the year.
The conversation surrounding two-day PLEs has been ongoing since WrestleMania added a second night in 2020, with the 2025 and 2026 editions of SummerSlam recently announced to follow suit when the event emanates from MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, respectively.
Elsewhere in his talk, Shapiro remained positive on TKO and WWE’s relationship with NBCUniversal, Comcast, and Peacocking, saying he thinks the upcoming PLE package rights will lend itself to “more suitors” than perhaps the UFC television rights will, due to being low volume with a high premium being once a month.
