Variety has reported that CM Punk is set to join the cast of the upcoming Syfy horror series Revival, which was picked up by the network in May.
Punk, who has appeared in the series Heels and Mayans MC along with films like Let’s Start A Cult and The Girl on the Third Floor, was noted as being in a recurring role alongside Steven Ogg, Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Andy McQueen.
The news comes after Punk last competed at WWE Bad Blood, facing Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell before taking time off to recover from previous injuries.
The show’s official description, per Variety:
On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the ‘revived’ appear and act just like they once were. When local officer and single mother Dana Cypress (Scrofano) is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.
Based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton, Revival was developed for television by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce who serve as executive producers and showrunners, with Blue Ice Pictures and Hemmings Films producing.
