In an interview with SB Nation, Toni Storm revealed that she is retiring from pro wrestling.
The former Women’s World Champion addressed a recent string of losses beginning at AEW All In, when she lost the title to Mariah May, by apologizing to fans for “being such a failure,” adding:
I’m not used to being a loser. I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that.
Storm further stated she had not spoken with AEW President Tony Khan about the decision to retire, insisting that AEW is “just fine” with her absent from the company.
The news comes after the former champion was seen in a video promoting AEW’s debut in Australia for the Grand Slam Australia event taking place in February.
Wrestleview wishes Toni Storm all the best, and that she may be “Timeless” in whatever her future holds.
