Fightful Select has recently published a report regarding the reason why Danhausen has been absent from AEW television for almost a year.
The report notes that there have been no recent talks about Danhausen making his return to AEW programming and no creative plans at this time for him.
Fightful Select indicates that when Danhausen did not show up on AEW television during Fright Night Dynamite, the publication has learned that Danhausen and AEW have not had regular communication for the past six months, other than the required approval for taking independent bookings.
It was also said even though Danhausen was initially scheduled to make his return to AEW programming roughly a year ago following an injury, a change in plans had led him to speak with, voicing his frustrations to Tony Khan.
Earlier this year, there were a few pitches made, including by one Bryan Danielson to bring Danhausen back. However, the plans never came to fruition, even though it was said that Danhausen said that he wanted to return.
Furthermore, it has been reportedly said it is believed Danhausen has preferred to prioritize his independent bookings over making appearances on Collision. It has been added that Danhausen told AEW about family-related matters over this past year which has impacted his availability with AEW, giving the impression he is not interested in working Collision.
The report concludes by noting that Danhausen’s AEW contract is set to expire sometime in the summer of 2025.
