During Friday night’s SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis unveiled a new championship.
WWE officially now has a Women’s United States Championship. Aldis said the title will be earned and not handed. However, Aldis did not provide specifics on how the very-first title holder will be crowned.
It was noted on commentary that women from Raw and SmackDown will be able to challenge for the new championship.
