Another legitimate injury at TNA’s TV tapings on Sunday night in Detroit

Reports surfaced late Sunday night that Chris Bey suffered a possible legitimate injury during TNA Wrestling’s TV tapings at the Wayne State University Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan. The reports noted that

According to Fightful Select, Bey indeed sustained a serious injury during the tapings.

The report also notes that the match and the show ended with only the post-show meet and greet following the injury. Bey was taken to a local area hospital where he underwent neck surgery. Furthermore, it was said the details beyond this are being kept private.

It is also said that Bey is well liked and respected, he was instrumental in helping repair TNA’s relationship with NJPW.

According to PWInsider, Bey was out after what appeared to be a mistimed finish involving a cutter by Matt Hardy.  It was also said that Jeff Hardy kicked Bey and it appeared Bey would have gone backwards into a Cutter from Matt. However, the jump was mistimed.  Following the conclusion of the match, EMTs placed a neck collar on Bey and stretchered him out.

This is the second injury from the TV tapings. Vikingo was injured during his match against Trent Seven. The match was stopped after a springboard dive to the outside led to the injury. Several agents came out after the referee threw up the “X” signaling the injury, with Vikingo being taken out of the building on a stretcher by legitimate EMS.

The injury came just one night after Vikingo challenged for the X-Division Title at TNA Bound For Glory, following an injury that kept him sidelined from February to September.

Vikingo has since posted an update on social media. He said the following on his Instagram Stories:

“Thanks to my brother, Laredo Kid, for accompanying me and keeping an eye on me! I chose this sport, I am happy for the good and the bad. I will recover and come back stronger than ever. Thanks to everyone who sent me a message!”

Wrestleview wishes both Vikingo and Bey speedy recoveries.
