WWE reportedly rejected TNA’s offer to induct AJ Styles in Hall of Fame

According to Fightful Select, TNA Wrestling reportedly approached WWE about inducting AJ Styles into this year’s TNA Hall of Fame this year. However, it is being said WWE passed on the opportunity.

The report also notes that though no specific reason was given by WWE for the rejection, sources with TNA Wrestling told Fightful Select they believe it could be related to Styles’ current injury or plans of future storylines.

Styles spent twelve years with TNA Wrestling, before leaving for NJPW and then signing with WWE in 2016, debuting in Royal Rumble. In TNA Wrestling Styles is a three-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a two-time TNA World Champion, six-time X-Division title holder, two-time TNA World Tag Team Champion, a two-time TNA Legends/Global/TV Champion, five-time Triple Crown and two-time Grand Slam Champion.

Styles has been out of action since the October 4, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown, after suffering a mid-foot ligament sprain during his match with Carmelo Hayes. That was Styles’ It was his first match on WWE television since losing to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in an “I Quit” match at Clash at the Castle this past June.

Fightful Select also notes Monty Brown was also considered for this year’s TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame.

The 2024 TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame took place this past Saturday during the Bound For Glory pay-per-view countdown show, which saw the late Bob Ryder and ECW great Rhino being inducted.
