Alex Shelley thanks the fans after last week’s WWE debut

Alex Shelley, one half of the Motor City Machine Guns posted a video to social media, thanking the fans following his WWE debut with tag team Chris Sabin on last Friday’s SmackDown.

MCMG’s defeated A-Town Down and Los Garza in a Triple Threat Match. Shelley and Sabin will now go on to face DIY on this Fridays show, with the winner becoming the new No. 1 contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships, currently held by The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.

Shelley said the following:

“I want to express gratitude to everybody that supported me throughout not just my pro wrestling career but my life and that’s friends, and that’s co-workers, and that’s family. You don’t necessarily have to be a blood relative to be family, but we did it,” he said.

“Now I’m a WWE superstar. To be able to verbalize that has a very, very deep and profound sense of power here,” he continued, pressing on his chest. “And again, I couldn’t have done it without the support of so many people…so many different points of my life. I think whether you believe in the creator or fate or the universe…I have to be one of the most blessed people out there to have come this far and to be able to accomplish that goal and now the hard work begins. But again, thank you so, so much, I truly mean that. And I couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks for pushing me along and picking me up when I was gonna fall and encouraging me and never letting me give up and, gosh. Here we go.”
