Former WWE interviewer says there were instances where she could’ve gone to HR in the company

During an appearance on the latest episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, former WWE backstage interviewer Charly Caruso (Arnolt) was asked about how it was for her working under Vince McMahon.

She said there were instances where she could have gone to HR, but also noted that “if you do not have a thick skin, you do not belong working in WWE.”

“What I’ve always said is, if you do not have a thick skin, you do not belong working in WWE. I do find that to be the case in a lot of areas in television. As a woman, you must have thick skin. Were there many instances where I probably could have gone to HR over something small or even something that probably had a little more ‘oomph’ to it? Yes. Was I the person to do that? No. I’m not saying I was mistreated in any sort of way, but there were definitely things that went on at WWE that if an outsider were to get a glimpse on the inside, they would say, ‘What is going on here? How are people working in these specific conditions?’ It’s one of those things that you kind of went with. You were working with WWE. I’m interviewing men who are wearing nothing but tiny little speedos. It’s kind of the job you sign up for.”

Caruso worked for WWE from 2016 to 2021. She joined ESPN Sportscenter in 2018 and began using her real last name of Arnolt. Back on July 9, 2022, Arnolt debuted as a fight interviewer at UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Fiziev. On April 27, 2024, she became the first female ring announcer in UFC history, temporarily replacing Joe Martínez, who was said to have been ill and could not make the event.

Charly appears at the 21:00 mark of the episode, along with former WWE creative team writer Vince Russo, former WWE backstage interviewer Jonathan Coachman former WWE Superstar Maven and Phil Muschnick.
