Fightful Select has provided an update on MJF.
It is said that the former AEW World Champion’s role in Happy Gilmore 2 is described as “a major one.” Filming for the movie was reportedly throughout the month of September, with production now wrapped up.
The report also notes that MJF is expected to make his return to AEW programming sooner rather than later. Furthermore, it was said that MJF has signed on for another film role that will also star Justin Long and Ron Perlman.
MJF last competed at AEW All Out defeating Daniel Garcia in a singles match. Post-match, Garcia got the upper hand by taking out MJF, as a way to write him off TV.
Adam Sandler will return in the sequel, which will go straight to Netflix. At the time of this report, there is no official release date for the film.
