AEW’s Taz undergoing knee replacement surgery

According to a report from F4WONline, AEW color-commentator Taz will be away from television for a period of time due to knee replacement surgery.

Just before Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite went on the air, AEW started storyline, announcing that Taz had been attacked earlier in the day at the Petersen Events Center parking lot. Nigel McGuinness replaced Taz on commentary for the show.

Back in May, the 56-year old ECW legend took to social media revealing that he needed both of his knees and shoulders replaced. He also said that this was not from bumps, but from training to heavy and trying to be big, urging today’s wrestlers to be smarter as times have changed for the better.

During Wednesday’s Dynamite, which was the show’s fifth anniversary, Hook Taz’s real-life son), cut a promo vowing that he would get revenge on whomever attacked his father. Hook also retired the FTW Title after successfully defending it against Roderick Strong at the AEW Grand Slam episode of Dynamite back on September 25.
