Update on NXT’s TV rating and presentation ahead of tonight’s premiere on the CW

Fightful Select has provided an update on NXT moving from a TV-PG rating to a TV-14 ahead of tonight’s premiere episode on the CW.

The report notes that multiple sources within NXT sources, which includes production crew and talent, at the time Fightful Select’s report was published, have not been informed of any changes to the rating of TV-PG to TV-14. Furthermore, production crew and talent also have not been told about any changes to the style or presentation of the product.

Fightful Select did further note that one specific source noted that it would be odd to see NXT and not Raw or SmackDown change from a TV-PG rating to a TV-14 rating. They did say however, with NXT now being on network television as opposed to cable, it could be a legal loophole for WWE and the CW not to censor the crowd chants and other age-related content.

The report concluded that should it be TV-14, how this would affect sponsors and advertisers for NXT going forward.

In a separate report, but related, Fightful Select notes that their will be a new NXT logo debuting for tonight’s premiere episode on the CW.
