Bryan Danielson says he “got some sort of legal letter” from WWE about “Yes!” trademark

Current AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson applied back on July 29 to trademark Yes! Yes! Yes!

During an interview on the Luke James Chats podcast, which took place just before All In at Wembley Stadium, Danielson told James that shortly after he had officially filed to trademark “Yes! Yes! Yes!, he received an email from WWE notifying him that he was infringing on the company’s intellectual property.

“Well, so, it’s weird. I applied for it, but then I got – it wasn’t necessarily a cease and desist, I got some sort of legal letter from WWE [laughs]…it’s really weird because my manager just texted me and said like, ‘Hey, this thing is available. Do you want to get it?’ And I was like, ‘How much does it cost?’ And it wasn’t that much. And I was like, ‘Ok, sure.’ And then shortly after that I got an email from WWE saying like, ‘Oh, this is infringing on this or that or whatever.’ And I’m like, ‘Dude, I’m not trying to sell anybody anything.’ Yeah, I just do my thing.”

After Danielson arrived in AEW back in September 2021, he didn’t encourage fans to chant “Yes!” However, he been seen doing the chant more on AEW programming, as well as the fans. The “Yes!” chant began during Danielson’s time in WWE.
