According to a new report from TMZ, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella (Garcia), is searching for a divorce lawyer.
Sources with direct knowledge have told TMZ, Nikki has been making calls since last Friday and that her intention is to file to end her marriage to Artem Chigvintsev.
TMZ also notes that Nikki began the search a day after Artem allegedly attacked her, resulting in a physical injury that triggered his arrest for felony domestic violence.
Last Thursday, Chigvintsev was arrested at approximately 9:40 am local time, in violation of California Penal Code Section 273.5(a) PC, also known as domestic violence or corporal injury to a spouse, former spouse, cohabitant, former cohabitant, or the mother or father of his or her child, according to records viewed by Fox News Digital.
In previous report, it was noted that Sources told TMZ that the alarm was sounded when someone at Chigvintsev’s residence in called 911. Sources connected to the investigation told TMZ that a call came in at around 8:30 am local time, reporting a “medical emergency.” However, it is not known as to who actually made the call. It has also been previously reported that Nikki threw shoes at Chigvintsev.
The report notes that when paramedics and the fire department were en route, someone from the house called 911 again to cancel the request. They did not say what the reason was, but that paramedics and fire department ended up returning to their stations, never showing up to the house.
Nikki has not been wearing her wedding ring since the incident took place. She hosted the Chestnut/Kobayashi hot dog eating contest over the weekend in Vegas, and her finger was bare, as seen in the photo below, courtesy of Netflix and TMZ.
TMZ sources also stated Artem has been staying at a friend’s house and not at the family home. Nikki is reportedly staying at the family house with their 4-year-old son Matteo.
Furthermore, TMZ notes that Police officers said that they observed obvious injuries on the victim’s body, and they arrested Artem for the felony. He was released on $25,000 bail just hours after he was arrested.
Nikki and Artem first met back in 2017 when they competed together on the 28th season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Their son Matteo was born back in 2020. Nikki and Artem celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary just days before Artem was arrested.
TMZ concluded that there has not been any comment from Chigvintsev after reaching out.
