More on Swerve Strickland’s new AEW contract

Fightful Select has published more details on the new multi-year deal Swerve Strickland signed before the All In: London Zero Hour show this past Sunday. AEW aired footage of Strickland signing the new contract.

The report also notes that Strickland’s new multi-year contract is “considered one of the biggest deals in the company’s history.”

Strickland signed a three-year contract back in March of 2022, which was reportedly set to expire in March 2025. It was also said that Strickland out performed his contract by the time his AEW World Title reign came along, which then led to negotiations between the two sides.

With time still on Strickland’s existing contract, Tony Khan made it a priority to lock in a new multi-year contract before March 2025. This new multi-year deal will reportedly keep him in AEW until at least 2028, although the exact length of this new deal is not clear.

Fightful Select concluded by noting that AEW has been more than pleased with Strickland’s recent performances. He is expected to continue to be booked as a top star going forward. f

Strickland lost the AEW World Championship to Bryan Danielson in the career vs. title match at this past Sunday’s AEW All In: London at Wembley Stadium.
