According to a new report by ABC News 5 Cleveland, local police said that a 50-year-old woman was injured on Monday night, after she was struck by a beer can thrown during a promotional event featuring WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan in Medina Township.
Hogan was promoting his new beer brand, “Real American Beer,” when the woman was hit by a can, knocking her to the ground. The incident happened around 5:30 pm local time at the Thirsty Cowboy on Medina Road.
According to a Medina Township police report, some witnesses told the responding officers Hogan was the one who threw the beer. However, other witnesses said it was another crew member who “was throwing beers from the stage like a ‘baseball pitch.'”
The report further notes that no arrests were made and no one was charged due to the conflicting information.
ABC News 5 concluded their report by noting that the woman ended up getting nine stitches.
The event ended up turning political, as making remarks about Kamala Harris, with Hogan asking if he should “body-slam” and “drop the leg” on the current Vice President of the United States. Following a cheer of approval, Hogan would go on to ask if Harris was “some kind of chameleon” before asking about if she was Indian, which led to a remark referencing Native Americans.
Hogan later stated that his remarks in Ohio were “just the beers talking.”
