In an interview with Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely, Steve Austin was asked if WWE contacted him regarding WrestleMania XL, given his history with the company and the event taking place in Philadelphia.
The main event of the show, a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, saw appearances from The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker
The WWE Hall of Famer noted the company reached out to him, adding:
We had conversations. My wife and I had some things going on and I didn’t need to go to Philly at that time. I have said, I miss Mania and Philly was a good town for me back in the day and I appreciate those fans. Couldn’t make it down on that one.
Austin, who last appeared at WWE’s signature event in 2022, went on to point out that next year’s WrestleMania takes place in Las Vegas, following previous teases of a possible appearance.
