Report: Former NXT UK Women’s Champion retiring, final match likely in 2025

According to Tokyo Sports, The legendary Meiko Satomura, who is also a former NXT UK Women’s Champion is expected to retire. Her final match is likely to be in the spring of 2025. It was noted that next April is the 30th Anniversary of Satomura’s debut as a pro wrestler.

Satomura runs the Sendai Girls promotion in Japan and is still under contract with WWE. At Thursday’s house show, which took place in Osaka, Satomura wrestled her first WWE match since March 2023. She teamed with Bayley, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, in a victory over IYO SKY, Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai and Tiffany Stratton.

After the house show, Satomura told Tokyo Sports she will address her retirement in the near future.

Satomura first signed with WWE back in 2021 as a wrestler and coach for the NXT UK brand.

Beside wrestling in Japan and for WWE, she made appearances on the independent scene and in WCW during the 1990’s.
