Dave Meltzer has reported in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the Motor City Machine Guns are expected to sign with WWE, following a period of free agency after their TNA contracts expired in April.
Noting that the former TNA/IMPACT World Tag Team Champions still have an upcoming independent date on 8/18 in Canada, Meltzer added:
It’s been known for months that they had been talking with AEW and WWE ever since their TNA contracts expired. Of late, the indications were WWE made the better offer but they were expected to be with whichever side made the best offer. Within wrestling the belief is that they are WWE-bound and Tommaso Ciampa made a reference to them in social media. They’ve also been completely silent about it and clearly have made their decision one way or the other.
In addition to winning tag team gold together, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have seen their fair share of singles success including the TNA/IMPACT World Heavyweight and X-Division titles.
