At the JPMorgan Global Technology, Media and Communications Conference, TKO’s chief operating officer Mark Shapiro spoke on the relationship between WWE and Netflix.
Shapiro revealed that part of the deal that begins in January 2025 will see “a lot of ancillary shoulder programming” next year, including a series similar to the F1 docuseries Drive To Survive and documentaries on other WWE stars.
The 2019 series is credited with bringing a lot of popularity to F1, leading to the league signing an extension of three years with ESPN worth up to $90 million annually.
WWE’s deal with Netflix brings RAW to the streaming platform in the United States, alongside WWE content and premium live events in international markets.
At the conference, the TKO executive also talked about WWE expanding their deal with Saudi Arabia over the next six to twelve months, as well as packaging up UFC and WWE events as a big part of TKO’s strategy going forward.
