WWE fans say they have been out priced by “extortionate” ticket prices for Clash at the Castle

Some WWE fans are slamming the “extortionate” ticket prices for next month’s Clash at the Castle premium live event, which will be held at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

The least expensive tickets cost £300 (USD 375.72), with premium tickets costing more than £2,000 (USD 2,504.80).

Several WWE fans told BBC Scotland News that they have been priced out of being able to attend the event and will miss their chance to see Scottish wrestling talent such as Drew McIntyre, Piper Niven, and Alba Fyre.

Wrestling fan Lewis McLean, 18, and his Dad, Craig, told BBC Scotland News that they had hoped to attend the show in their home city. “We don’t make all that much money, and my dad, he’s quite ill, so we’re not able to travel a lot… to be able to get one of these live events in Scotland is quite a big deal to us. We were planning on getting me, my dad, and my cousin.”

McLean also stated that it would “cost far too much” for him and his family to spend over £900 (USD 1,127.16) to attend Clash at the Castle with the worst possible seats. A WWE spokesperson told BBC Scotland News that some tickets had been sold at a lower price point. However, WWE declined to give details of how many of those tickets were available or how many had been sold at the time of BBC’s report.

The OVO Hydro in Glasgow has a maximum capacity of holding up to 14,300 people. As of this writing, BBC Scotland News notes hundreds of seats are still on sale.

Journalist Ross Brady, who has attended WWE events in London, Cardiff, and New Orleans, said he could not find a ticket for less than £300 (USD 375.72). He said the first prices that went up were for combo tickets of around £330 (USD 413.29).

Brady also said he will have to watch Clash at the Castle on TV to save himself some money. Brady noted that he is a proper fan, but he will need to miss the event that is 20 minutes down because he is not “paying extortionate prices.”

WWE Clash at the Castle will take place on Saturday, June 15, and air live on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally.
