WWE revealed on the 5/6 edition of RAW that some of the matches for the King and Queen of the Ring will take place at upcoming live events this weekend, namely Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio and Shayna Baszler vs. Zelina Vega.
Fightful Select has since reported that the company will air footage of these matches on RAW and SmackDown so fans can see who won, but the full matches are not expected to be aired elsewhere as of this writing.
This marks the first time tournament matches have not taken place on television since the early years of King of the Ring having a pay-per-view in its honor, in which certain qualifying matches took place at tapings for syndicated programs like Superstars and Wrestling Challenge.
RAW saw the first of the opening round matches for the tournaments, which will culminate in the finals at WWE King and Queen of the Ring emanating from Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 25.
