Plans for WWE RAW reportedly changed in light of CM Punk injury

Fightful Select has reported that plans for the post-Royal Rumble edition of RAW were in fact changed due to the injury CM Punk sustained during the Men’s Royal Rumble match.

One change in particular was the segment of Seth Rollins calling out Cody Rhodes to choose the World Heavyweight Champion as his WrestleMania 40 opponent.

It has also been reported that Rhodes was always scheduled to win the match, dispelling some rumors that an audible was called due to the Punk injury.

Punk revealed that night on RAW that a triceps tear would keep him out of action for some time, forcing him to be sidelined from competing at WWE’s biggest show of the year.

WWE has since posted behind-the-scenes footage of Punk and Rhodes interacting following the news, with Punk telling the American Nightmare to “finish your story”:
