According to PWInsider, WWE and McIntyre have not entered into any deep discussions about a new contract. It was also said that WWE’s stance has been that there is a lot of time to still negotiate.
PWInsider also notes they have heard as of late that McIntyre has told those close to him he is more than willing to let his current deal lapse if necessary and take a break for his family, as they recently suffered the loss of his wife’s sister. In addition, PWInsider says they were also told McIntyre has long stated to those he is friends with that he would like the chance to spend some extended time back in Scotland, as it has been many years since he had the chance to have more than a quick visit with his family there, as he lives full-time in the United States.
The report concluded by noting that McIntyre is more than willing to let family come first over a new WWE contract if there has to be a choice of one or the other and that there’s been no signs of any negative issues between WWE management and McIntyre.
Reports surfaced on Saturday that after CM Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series on Saturday night, McIntyre immediately went backstage, put on his hoodie and stormed out of the building. In addition, there are reports McIntyre was visibly upset with Punk’s return.
