According to a report from PWInsider, the current plan for the WWE Superstar Spectacle at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India on Friday September 8, is it for only be a house show event and not a premium live event
It was also noted that as per multiple sources within WWE, as it stands as of now, the event will not air live on Peacock or the WWE Network. However, it was said that it is possible the event could air locally in India, but that has not been confirmed.
For the special event, WWE is advertising appearances from World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, John Cena, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Intercontinental Champion Gunther, Jinder Mahal, Veer, Sanga, Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Matt Riddle, Ludwig Kaiser and Odyssey Jones.
Back in January 2021, WWE produced a TV special specifically for the Indian market, which was called WWE Superstar Spectacular for Republic Day. WWE had originally scheduled to hold a SmackDown house show in India back in January 2022. However, the event ended up getting delayed due to the merger of Sony and Zee, as Sony Sports is the broadcast partner for WWE in India.
