Extension on replying to Britney Abrahams lawsuit filed by WWE and associated defendants

A joint motion filed yesterday in the United States District Court for the Eastern District New York has called for all defendants involved to be granted an extension on when they must respond to the lawsuit against WWE, Vince and Stephanie McMahon, and other WWE executives by former writer Britney Abrahams.

The motion lists September 5 as the new deadline, as opposed to the previous date of June 26. The court has yet to sign off on the motion.

The 31-page lawsuit alleges that Abrahams was discriminated against and later fired for objecting to “offensively racist and stereotypical jargon” in scripts for black performers.

In addition to WWE and the McMahon family members, other defendants named in the suit include current and former WWE executives as well as employees involved in WWE Creative: Christine Lubrano (SVP, Creative Writing Operations at WWE), former WWE Creative Team member Chris Dunn, Ryan Callahan (current VP of SmackDown), creative team member Jen Pepperman, and Mike Heller, another former WWE Creative Team member who left the company last year.
