AEW reportedly considering a venue in Florida for debut episode of Collision

According to a new report from F4WOnline, AEW is considering Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida as backup location for the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17. It is being said that AEW has already been in contact with the venue. Furthermore it is said that those that are involved with the proposed event at Daily’s Place said they were told on Thursday about the show being possible at the venue and that a decision would be made next week.

As previously reported, AEW had originally set to launch the debut episode from the United Center in Chicago. However, plans to hold the show at the venue are still uncertain due to a dispute between CM Punk and AEW.

The feeling is that the United Center is not the right place for the debut episode unless Punk is going to be there because fans will expect him to be and would be hugely disappointed if he does not show up, whether he’s advertised or not. The other consensus is that without fans believing he will be there, AEW would not be able to sell enough tickets on such short notice, which would not be worth it, since Dynamite and Rampage will be taking place the following Wednesday from the nearby Wintrust Arena.
