Former Michigan State University gymnast to make WWE NXT debut on Level Up

Former Michigan State gymnast Lea Mitchell will make her WWE NXT TV wrestling debut as Kelani Jordan on this week’s episode of Level Up.

Jordan did participate in a Halloween-themed battle royal at an NXT house show last October. Her match, against Wndy Choo, which was taped at the Performance Center this past Tuesday,will air on this Friday’s episode NXT Level Up. 

She also had previously appeared on ias one of Grayson Waller’s “Waller Girls” at Vengeance Day this past in February. 

Lea Mitchell was signed by WWE after taking part in tryouts during SummerSlam weekend in Nashville last year. She was one 14 out of the 50 who attended the tryouts to be signed.

NXT Level Up airs every Friday night on Peacock in the US and WWE Network everywhere else, beginning at 10:00 pm ET.

Per the Michigan State University website, she has a long list of athletic and scholarly accolades which includes the following:

-23 career event victories 

-Named CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2022. 

-Recipient of the 2021 Big Ten Conference Wayne Duke Postgraduate Award – the first female MSU student-athlete to receive the honor. 

-Five-time WCGA Scholastic All-America honoree 

-Four-time Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree (2019-22)

-Three-time co-captain of the MSU women’s gymnastics team
