Did Mercedes Mone’ retain the IWGP Women’s Title?

After holding the Women’s IWGP Championship for 64 days, Mercedes Mone’ lost the Title to Mayu Iwatani at Sunday night’s Stardom All Star Grand Queendom event, at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan.

Mone’ taunted Iwatani for most of the match. Iwatani pinned Mone’ after hitting a dragon suplex. After the match, Mone’ said that she loves being the CEO of Stardom and then told Iwatani she really was the icon of Stardom. Mone’ had won the IWGP Women’s Title back at the NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose, California on February 18.

Mone’s loss also came just hours before it was reported that she agreed to an extension with NJPW/Stardom.

All five titles changes hands at the event. The other four titles that changed hands were as follows:

-World of Stardom Championship. Tam Nakano defeated Giulia to win the Championship for the first time. Nakano pinned Giulia following the violent screwdriver. Giulia had held the title for 115 days, defeating Syrui back at the Dream Queendom 2 event on December 29, 2022.

-Artist of Stardom Championships (Six-Women Tag Team Titles). KAIRI, Saori Anou, and Natsupoi defeated Risa Sera, Suzu Suzuki, and Hiragi Kurumi.

-Goddess of Stardom Tag Team Championships. Mirai and Ami Sourei defeated Nanae Takahashi and Yuu

-Wonder of Stardom Championship: Mina Shirakawa defeated Saya Kamitani
