Report: CM Punk’s return to AEW is planned for June 17

According to an update from F4Wonline, CM Punk’s AEW return may be taking place at the same venue where he debuted for the company, back in 2021.

F4WOnline also notes, (which has been reported over the course of several weeks now), Punk is currently scheduled to make his return to AEW at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday, June 17.

The following was also further said in the report:

-Things have yet to be finalized. However, the United Center is booked and an announcement could come soon.

-Punk was an “extremely important” factor in AEW’s deal for the new Saturday show.

-One person outside the company has seen correspondence indicating that WBD definitely wanted him back and other things that have happened in recent weeks very much behind-the-scenes have indicated to us that Punk being back is, if nothing else, very significant in everything.

-The June 17 date will “likely” be the debut of AEW’s new weekly Saturday television show for Warner Bros. Discovery.

The rumored name for the new said to be two-hour Saturday show has been AEW Collision. It has been also been continually stated this show would only have talent on it who are willing to work with Punk.

Punk made his AEW debut at the United Center on August 13, 2021. He debuted on the very first of Rampage named “The First Dance.”

AEW is also scheduled to hold Dynamite at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Wednesday, June 21.

Punk has been suspended since the altercation with AEW EVP’s Kenny Omega and Matt and Nick Jackson, which took place backstage during the September 2022 All Out PPV media scrum.

Punk had captured the AEW World Title from Jon Moxley at All Out and also torn his triceps during the match. After the altercation he vacated the title and was ultimately suspended by AEW CEO and President Tony Khan.
