CM Punk’s return to AEW reportedly being planned

Fightful Select has provided a new update on CM Punk’s possible return to AEW.

The latest update on Thursday notes the plan as of right now is for Punk to return on the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, which will take place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, or possibly at around that specific time period.

Fight Select notes that nothing is set in stone as things can always change. However, there were reportedly internal rumblings on Punk’s summer return before Wednesday’s report was published.

It is also being said that AEW has even discussed the possibly announcing Punk’s return well ahead of time, potentially at the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfronts on Wednesday, May 17, which will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Chris Jericho reportedly stated following the All Out PPV backstage altercation, he doesn’t want to work with Punk and told the AEW locker room that Punk would not be welcomed back. Fightful Select also said the word is there was a meeting planned between Punk and Jericho to see if they would possibly work together.
