Despite being injured, Ronda Rousey will be competing at WrestleMania 39.
During Friday night’s WWE SmackDown, Rousey and Shayna Baszler appeared following a match between Shotzi & Natalya and Xia Li & Lacey Evans. Rousey and Baszler then said that they have been added to the Women’s Fatal Four-Way Showcase Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 39. Rousey and Baszler now join Shotzi & Natalya, Raquel Gonzalez & Liv Morgan. One more team has yet to be determined.
Rousey confirmed Friday on Instagram that she fractured her radius, which one of two bones in the forearm.show in Rockford, Illinois on February 26.
There had been several reports that the original idea for Rousey and Baszler was for them to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39.
After months of refusing to fight his son, during Friday night’s WWE SmackDown, Rey Mysterio finally agreed to have a match with his son Dominik at WrestleMania 39.
Dominik was ringside for a Rey vs. LA Knight match. Dominik tripped Rey, which allowed LA Knight to get an upset victory over Rey.
Post-Match, Dominik berated his mother Angie, who was sitting ringside along with Aalyah Mysterio. Dominik called his mother “a deadbeat” and told her to “shut up.” Rey then snapped and punched Dominik and said he will wrestle him at WrestleMania 39.
Rey will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Friday, March 31, the day before night one of WrestleMania. The go-home show for SmackDown and the Hall of Fame will take place live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA.
The WWE Hall of Fame will air live on Peacock in the Unite States and WWE Network everywhere else, immediately following SmackDown.
