WWE to broadcast Friday Night SmackDown from Madison Square Garden

During WWE’s Sunday night Road to WrestleMania Supershow at Madison Square Garden, it was announced that SmackDown will take place live from the venue on July 7, 2023.

There is a pre-sale going on now using the pre-sale code of SMACKDOWN.

The last time WWE did live television from Madison Square Garden was 25, 2022 for the Raw SummerSlam go-home show on July 25, 2022. This was also the 20th anniversary celebration for Rey Mysterio. The last SmackDown episode to air live from MSG was the Super SmackDown episode back on September 10, 2021.

-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Becky Lynch, Candice LeRae, Asuka, Nikki Cross & Raw Women’s Champ Bianca Belair defeated Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY), Piper Niven & Carmella

-Ricochet won a Battle Royal to earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship by last eliminating Dominik Mysterio.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (c) defeated Ricochet

-Cody Rhodes def. Solo Sikoa via DQ when The Usos attacked him. Sami Zayn ran in from the crowd to make the save after the match.

-LA Knight issued an open challenge, and Braun Strowman accepted

-Braun Strowman defeated LA Knight

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: Charlotte Flair (c) defeated Sonya Deville and Liv Morgan

Steel Cage Match for the WWE United States Championship: Austin Theory (c) defeated Seth Rollins
