In an update on the fan incident during the 60-Minute Iron Match at Sunday’s AEW Revolution, F4WOnline has confirmed further reports that the young man and his mother were real fans and not planted by AEW.
Per Fightful’s previous report, the beverage was water. However, according to F4WOnline, the beverage was believed to be tequila. It was also noted that when MJF tossed the drink on the child, some of the alcohol got into his eyes. It was further noted that MJF probably did not know the beverage was tequila and thought it was water.
F4WOnline also confirmed Fightful’s report that Amanda Huber and others from AEW came out. The young fan was taken backstage and given merchandise. The boy and mother will also be attending Wednesday night’s Dynamite at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Wednesday, complements of Tony Khan.
Tony Khan said during Sunday night’s media scrum that MJF did not “act like a champion” when he tossed the beverage on a young fan sitting ringside during the pay-per-view.
MJF’s only response, when he was asked about the incident during the media scrum, was that he thought “the kid looked thirsty.”
