According to Fightful, WWE Superstar Sonya Deville (real name Daria Bernardo) was arrested in New Jersey for having a firearm in her vehicle.
It was also noted that Deville has a permit in Florida. However the permit is not valid in New Jersey. TMZ is reporting the incident actually happened back on February 19.
Fightful also notes Deville started carrying the firearm after her home was invaded back in August 2020. The man who stalked her was arrested and charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief for breaking into Deville’s home.
Fightful further notes the following as it relates to Deville’s arrest:
-Court records show Deville has since been charged with one count of unlawful weapon possession – handgun without permit.
-Deville is in the process of getting the case thrown out. She is due in court for a hearing sometime this Month. The firearm was found in the vehicle while the car was being valeted as Deville was out celebrating with her fiance.
-WWE sources indicated there was no heat on Deville, with the understanding of why she would want to protect herself following the stalker and home invasion situation.
-Following the invasion, Sonya actually got help from a judge in expediting her permit in Florida to protect herself.
