NXT held a media call with Shawn Michaels following Vengeance Day.
Shawn said he felt that Vengeance Day was an absolutely phenomenal show in Charlotte and that the NXT roster was overjoyed to there.
When asked about what was next for New Day after the title change, Shawn said they have an open invitation and enjoyed their time in NXT. He hopes they will be back in the future.
As far as injuries, Michaels said “everyone is good” and also said miraculously, after an X-Ray, they learned Dijak’s finger was not broken – only dislocated and will be set back into place.
Shawn was asked about the rumors of NXT talents being allowed to do independent dates coming out of Ivy Nile being announced for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion. Shawn clarified that it was a one time deal to help Booker T’s promotion and that nothing else to the best of his knowledge.
On the potential of NXT during weekly television outsider of the Performance Center, Shawn said they are hoping for that one day, especially if they could have the results they had with the live crowd and reaction in Charlotte, which exceeded expectations.
NXT ran an angle where Grayson Waller confronted Shawn about “not being his guy” which was said that was done in relation to a real incident that happened at the gorilla position. Shawn further said that he loves Waller but he is not any different in real life vs. on camera.
Shawn was asked about the New Women’s Tag Champions – Fallon Henley and
Shawn was asked about the New NXT Women’s Tag Champions – Fallon Henley and Kiana James. He said they have had very little experience beyond the independent scene Shawn went on to day that you see them have chemistry against each other, so you put them in a team together to see how it works and then they decide to explore it and see how it goes. Shawn also said he feels Kayden and Katana were one of the most consistently performing tag teams in the entire company and he said they will now be chasing the new champs.
