Note on Elias/Ezekiel; Braun Strowman comments on his return to WWE

According to PWInsider, Ezekiel is no longer listed internally on WWE’s roster. The character has been replaced by Elias.

The Ezekiel character has not been seen on television since August. He was power-bombed by Kevin Owens and stretchered out. WWE later provided an update saying Ezekiel would be “out for a long time.”

Following WrestleMania 38, Elias was introduced as Ezekiel and had no beard and new ring gear. He claimed he was Ezekiel, the younger brother of Elias. Owens then became upset and spent the next several months attempting to prove that Elias and Ezekiel were the same person. After Vince McMahon had resigned from WWE in July, the Ezekiel character started to bring up another brother, Elrod.

After Triple H was named head of WWE creative following Vince McMahon’s resignation, the Ezekiel character was dropped after losing to Omos on an episode of Main Event.

Braun Strowman comments on his return to WWE

During his appearance on Friday’s After The Bell with Corey Graves, Braun Strowman said that his team “talked to everybody” during his free agency. He also went on to say that he does not ever plan on wrestling for anyone other than himself or WWE.

Strowman was released from WWE on June 2, 2021. He made his return on the September 5, 2022 episode of WWE Raw.
