Following Liv Morgan retaining the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey at WWE SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey turned heel.
There was a controversial finish at the end of the match. Rousey had the armbar submission on Morgan, who tapped out. However, the referee counted three on Rousey who had her shoulders down on the mat, thus Morgan getting the 1, 2, 3 on Rousey.
There is a replay angle that shows Morgan tapped out before the ref made the three count.
After the match, an upset Rousey attacked Morgan and then the referee. Officials then ran down to the ring to get her off the referee. Both Michael Cole and Corey Graves pointed out that Rousey was the clear winner.
