Wrestling Entertainment Series announced on Wednesday the promotion is canceling their debut show, which was set to take place this Saturday, July 9.
Adam Cailler of the Daily Star, reported this past Tuesday WES only sold less than 350 tickets. WES’ debut event was set to be held at the the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England which can hold up to 10,000 fans.
The show was also set to be available through FITE TV.
Last Saturday, IMPACT color commentator Matthew Rehewoldt said on Twitter that he had been “completely ghosted” by the WES.
Back on June 2, not long after WES announced their debut show was postponed and rescheduled, several talent that were originally scheduled for the show, said that they were no longer going to appear.
On July 3, Lina Fanene (former WWE Superstar Nia Jax) had taken to Twitter to call out the promotion for continuing to advertise her. She had announced on June 23 that she would no longer be appearing at WES’ debut event. The promotion however, continues to feature her on the poster for their debut show.
Wrestling Entertainment Series is founded by Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani, (formerly known as Akam and Rezar of The Authors of Pain in WWE).
