Sammy Guevara, the AEW TNT Champion will have his first title defense on next week’s Dynamite live from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA. Guevara defeated Miro on Wednesday’s night’s live episode of Dynamite at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY.
Guevara’s challenger will be former WWE NXT Superstar Bobby Fish. After Guevara defeated Miro for the TNT Championship on Wednesday’s Dynamite, Bobby Fish took to Twitter to be the first to congratulate Guevara, then said he wants to be the first to challenge him for TNT Title. He then went on to say he “ready to walk through the forbidden door.”
Following the first commercial break of Rhodes to the Top, Tony Schiavone interviewed Guevara, who brought up the challenge and said people not even working for AEW were challenging him. Guevara accepted Fish’s challenge for next week.
After Guevara accepted the challenge, Dan Lambert and The Men of the Year (Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page) confronted Guevara, saying they also wanted a title shot. The three men ended up having to be pulled apart by AEW officials.
Bobby Fish, 44, was one of 12 NXT talents released back on August 6 due to budget cuts.
Fish will be part of the upcoming Major League Wrestling Opera Cup tournament, and is set to make his debut at the MLW Fightland show on October 2 in at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
