According to Deadline, WWE Superstar John Cena, along with Oscar winner Kathy are joining Brian Cox and Jodie Turner-Smith in political thriller feature “The Independent.”
The movie is scheduled to begin filming in November in New York City. It should be noted that Cena in town for the 2021 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view on November 21, and Raw the next night, as both shows will take place from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Below is a synopsis for the film:
Set during “the final weeks of the most consequential presidential election in history,” the movie will follow an idealistic young journalist who teams up with her idol to uncover a conspiracy that places the fate of the election, and the country, in their hands.
