Former WWE NXT Superstar Jake Atlas (real name Kenny Marquez) has announced on Twitter (see below) that he is stepping away from pro wrestling.
Atlas returned to in-ring action for Ring of Honor at this past Sunday’s Death Before Dishonor PPV against Taylor Rust. After the match Atlas seemed to be injured.
Atlas did an extensive interview last week with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture back on September 8 (watch below).
Atlas went into detail about his experience in NXT and his mental health, noting that it was the worst it’s ever been in the past two years. He also discussed getting help through WWE for therapy and counseling.
Atlas was scheduled to work Ring of Honor television tapings Monday and Tuesday for Ring of Honor, but it is unknown as of this report if he actually appeared.
