AEW CEO and President Tony Khan revealed on Twitter Thursday that he has been in talks with Lio Rush about an AEW return.
Rush made a surprise debut at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view this past May. He was the mystery entrant in the Men’s Casino Battle Royale. His appearance was given the green light from New Japan Pro Wrestling, where Rush is still currently under contract.
Rush announced this past June that he was retiring due to an AC joint injury that caused his arm to feel like it was hanging off his body. He further noted he wanted to what was best for himself and his family.
Rush (real name Lionel Green) currently has been focusing on his music. He has also made required appearances at the New Japan Strong events over the summer to meet the terms of current contract with the Japanese promotion.
