The Final Impact

I really enjoyed Impact this week just based off of the great action in the ring and I did enjoy the little mini-tournament that we got, that it seemed to unfairly put the challengers at a distinct disadvantage.
The opening segment with Magnus and Abyss was okay and sets up what I figured would be a feud between those two. What I didn’t understand was the involvement of the new character, Bram. Are he and Magnus going to be a team now? TNA damn sure needs new tag teams that is for sure. They obviously planted the seeds that they have history together and hopefully they follow it up and explain it a little further.
Dixie and Bully were okay tonight but I am so sick of seeing Dixie Carter on my TV it’s not even funny. I just wished that Bully Powerbombed her ass right off TV.
The Six Man Tag was really good with tons of action. Sanada seems to be enjoying himself but I really hope Tigre Uno doesn’t just get lost in the shuffle now. The Ladder Match next week should be awesome and I would assume that is the blow off for that feud. The Bro-Mans need either a new team to feud with or three guys to do a trio feud with along with Zema. The Wolves need fresh opponents badly at this point. I just read this week that The Wolves new t-shirts are the best selling piece of TNA merchandise right now, that is a great sign for those guys.
Gunner and Anderson had a solid babyface match and Storm’s involvement sets up Storm and Anderson’s next program together which is a fresh matchup. Where does Gunner go now? The match with Roode was good and they played it off that Gunner had already had one match earlier in the show and had a brutal match with Storm at Sacrifice to explain the clean loss to Roode.
I have no idea what to expect with Knux’s new faction, I’m going to give a chance.
Willow and Storm barely got going before Storm got himself disqualified. Come on Jeff drop the goofy character.
The BP/Knockouts thing was okay but it’s kind of odd for the babyfaces to have the numbers advantage on the heels. I completely expect either Brittany to turn on the babyfaces and join BP or BP to bring in a new member.
I really enjoyed the EC3/Angle promo and EC3/Spud had me laughing more than once. I like those two a hell of a lot more than I ever thought I would.
The Main Event was an excellent, excellent TV Main Event with both guys working hard and I really enjoyed it. The fans aren’t taking to EY to the level I think TNA wants them too but I really like the story they are telling with him being a fighting champion. The question is who do they give him to have an actual program with now that he has moved on from Magnus?
– Segment/Promo of the Night: EC3/Angle/Spud
– Match of the Night: EY vs. Roode (****)
– Overall Grade: B+
