Titan in Japan
CMLL’s Titan continued his tour of Japan as a part of New Japan’s Best of the Super Juniors Tournament. After 3 consecutive losses he lost any shot of getting into the Semifinals, but he did defeat Rocky Romero in his final tournament match to keep Romero from getting to the Semifinals as well. Titan finished in 8th place of Block A with 6 points. Prince Devitt, Alex Shelley, Ryusuke Taguchi, & Kenny Omega move on to the Semifinals. Titan will likely take part in a Non-Tournament Tag Team Match on the final show of the tour on 06/09.

This week AAA finally announced information on how their iPPV for “TripleMania” will be streamed on 06/16. AAA will stream the event live from their website www.luchalibreaaa.com for $14.95 via UStream. CHIKARA “Cancels” Events
Off the heels of CHIKARA’s bizarre ending to their show this weekend (results below) it’s official website now lists ALL of CHIKARA’s 2013 dates (July 20-November 9th) as “canceled.” It’s assumed this is all part of the storyline, however.
Rey Misterio Sr. Rumor
Over the past week a rumor circulated that Rey Misterio Sr. had passed away but that rumor was very false. The person that actually died was the father of the new Hijo de Rey Misterio (Rey Misterio Sr. is not his actual father). The new Hijo de Rey Misterio (or Hijo de Rey Misterio II) has claimed to be Rey Misterio Sr.’s nephew but no one knows if that is true. R.I.P. to his father though.
Perros del Mal Cancels Anniversary
This week PdM announced that they were canceling this weekend’s 06/09 5th Anniversary Show due to the death of Hector Garza, which doesn’t make much sense because they announced after he died that it would be a show in honor of him.
Lucha Documentary Screening
Lucha Libre documentary “Viva Lucha Libre” (which I reviewed last year and it was excellent) is coming to Lighthouse International Film Festival at the Long Beach Island Historical Museum in Beach Haven, NJ. It debuts at 1:30 PM on June 09, 2013 with ticket prices at $10. – Icarus asked Marty Jannetty to be in his corner for the Main Event because Jannetty had inspired him to be a pro wrestler when Icarus was a kid. There was a chair at ringside set up for Jannetty but he never showed up. Late in the match Kingston grabbed that chair and hit Icarus with it. Icarus seemed to have Kingston beat with a submission but then Condor Security (as Wink Vavasseur watched) and men dressed in suits ran out and attacked everyone in the ring. They then began destroying the CHIKARA set and suddenly the show went to black as if it was pulled off the air, Sopranos style. After the event reports said that there were a lot of fans pissed about the ending and one even broke a glass door at the arena.
