Tomorrow brings Christmas Day…from PWBTS, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our readers. May you and yours celebrate the season that gives us the birth of the Child who came to liberate the world, and a Happy Hanukkah… the season of the Festival of Lights…in peace, in safety, and in joy.
Here’s a really important gift you can give your children for those readers in the United States: please take some time to contact your local Representative or Senator in the next two weeks. Tell them you demand an assault weapons ban and a ban on high-capacity clips.
The Toys for Tots collections I publicized through the Holiday season were designed to let our children keep their innocence for just a while longer. But it’s hard to do that in the light of what happened just two weeks ago in Newtown, CT.
Back to Toys for Tots….looks like we have at least one set of happy tidings to report in this week’s column, with news on the Toys for Tots collections all over independent wrestling through the United States. It just goes to show you that wrestling fans DO have a heart. Thanks to all the fans that contributed. As Christmas approaches, its a nice thought that this column contributed, even in a small way, to children having some joy during the holidays.
Congratulations to the promotions whose Toys for Tots or other charitable efforts this column was able to publicize during this holiday season: CZW (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware), EVOLVE (Pennsylvania/New Jersey), USCW Pro Wrestling (Florida), United Wrestling Coalition (New Jersey), River City Wrestling (Texas), Charity Appeal Wrestling Shows (United Kingdom), 3XWrestling (Des Moines, IA), Hoosier Pro Wrestling (Indiana), Chaotic Wrestling (Massachusetts/New Hampshire/Connecticut), Brew City Wrestling (Wisconsin), ECWA Pro Wrestling (New Jersey and Delaware), Illinois Championship Alliance Wrestling (Illnois), Pure Wrestling Association (Ontario), AAW Pro Wrestling (Illnois), GALLI Lucha Libre (Illnois) and Apex Pro Wrestling (California).
Until next time….
