Impact Wrestling Bound for Glory Results

New York City, New York (Melrose Ballroom)

Bound for Glory opens up with a special intro that hypes up the card for tonight with LAX narrating it.
The set for tonight is a big tron that covers the entire stage and a ramp that travels all the way from the stage to the ring (like the old WCW ramp that Impact has used in the past). The arena is much smaller than the “Slammiversary” arena and recent shows in Mexico City that Impact did.
I believe this is the same venue that MLW uses. It’s a very intimate venue, that’s for sure, even more so than I would say the ECW Arena was.
“Outlandish” Rich Swann & “Chocolate Thunder” Willie Mack vs. “New Bourne” Matt Sydal & “All Ego” Ethan Page
This is Mack’s Impact debut, though he worked the Impact vs. Lucha Underground event earlier this year, and he is a Lucha Underground star as “The Mack.” He’s a longtime Indy star on the west coast most known for his work in PWG.
Members of the New York Giants are shown in attendance.
Sydal and Swann kick off the match against each other and Swann lays Sydal out with a big Leaping Enziguri that causes Sydal to regroup in his corner with the bigger Page. Mack tags in and shows off some of his freaky athleticism with a tumbling arm drag and a headstand in on the top turnbuckle followed by a huge Pounce. Swann and Page tag back into the match and the two exchange some nice reversals capped off by a twisting hurricanrana from Swann for the first pin attempt of the match for a one count. Page then literally flips Swann 360 degrees in the air and slams him to the mat before tagging Sydal back into the match. Sydal hits a Ghetto Stomp off the top to the outstretched arm of Swann as Page held him down. Sydal begins to work on the arm with an armbar and he and Page begin to isolate Swann in their corner and make quick tags. Page hits a huge Avalanche style Straight Jacket Slam off the top. Sydal and Swann spill out to the floor where Sydal hides underneath the ring. When Swann goes to look for him, Sydal pops him with a chair (where the referee can’t see him). Page comes over to double-team Swann but Mack dives off the apron with a somersault plancha onto Sydal and Page. Swann rolls back into the ring but before he can tag in Mack, Sydal grabs him and locks him in another submission hold. Swann attempts to fight out of the hold but Sydal rolls through and locks in a crossface. Sydal and Page continue to isolate Swann in their corner. Page hits a Flying Elbow Drop for a nearfall but Swann fights both heels off and tags in Mack who is a house on fire! Mack with nasty Lariats to both heels in the corner followed by a huge cannonball on Sydal! Mack with a T-Bone Suplex on Page! Mack with a beautiful Standing Moonsault for a nearfall on Page and then he and Swann double team him with a Flapjack/Bulldog for another nearfall as Swann tags back in. Swann lifts Page up to the top rope but as he and Mack climb up with him, Page shoves Mack to the floor and then Super Press Slams Swann off the top! Page hits a Swanton Bomb on Swann for a big nearfall! A big “this is Impact” chant starts up. Mack comes in with a huge Enziguri on Page but Sydal destroys Mack with a Flying Knee! Sydal hits a leaping rana on Swann off the top but Swann lands onto Page and hits a rana of his own! Mack comes flying in with a dropkick to Sydal and then Page lays out Swann as all four men are now down in a crazy moment! Sydal holds Swann but Swann ducks as Page hits a roundhouse kick to Sydal! Mack hits a Stunner on Page but Sydal counters another Stunner into a neckrbeaker. Swann hits the Handspring Cutter on Sydal and then connects with the Phoenix Splash off the top for the pin!
Winners: Rich Swann & Willie Mack via pinfall (Phoenix Splash)
#BFGThoughts The opener was really fun and the team of Swann and Mack worked great together. Page had a nice showing, as well.

Willie Mack and Impact shill for their sponsor tonight, Comda.com.
Johnny Impact and Taya Valkryie on TMZ Live earlier this week is shown with Impact talking about the feud between he and Aries. Impact is pissed that Aries brought Taya, who is now married to Impact, into the feud and Taya is equally as pissed.
Footage from last night’s Hall of Fame induction of Abyss is shown where Aries and Impact got into it and a brawl ensued. Callis says that Aries has gone too far and suggests that he has some mental issues.
In the back Konnan is shown laid out as LAX arrive to try and help him.
Eli Drake comes out for his open challenge. He has issued a challenge for any New Yorker. Drake cuts a promo on New York, especially the Giants who are sitting ringside.
James Ellsworth comes out to answer the challenge but Mathews points out that he isn’t a New Yorker. Drake asks Ellsworth if he is even from New York and the fans start chanting “no.”
Ellsworth says he’s not from New York, but he did “date a woman from Staten Island.” He says he doesn’t like it when someone bad mouths New York City because he loves NYC and he’s here for a fan. A pretty big “you suck” chant and “f*ck you Ellsworth” chant breaks out.
Drake makes the obligatory chin joke and Ellsworth tells Drake he doesn’t have any balls. Ellsworth sucker punches Drake and the match starts.
Open Challenge
James Ellsworth vs. Eli Drake
Drake destroys Ellsworth with a Brainbuster as the fans have completely embraced Drake over Ellsworth despite Drake crapping on the city. Ellsworth hits a diving STO of the top and then goes for the No Chin Music, but Drake blocks it and hits a Chokeslam. Ellsworth catches Drake with a No Chin Music as he was playing to the crowd but still only gets a two count. Ellsworth goes for a Razor’s Edge but Drake counters into the Gravy Train and then a second one for the pin.
Winner: Eli Drake via pinfall (Gravy Train)
#BFGThoughts I have no clue what they were thinking with that Ellsworth stuff but it backfired big time. No one wanted to see him at all (myself included) and why you would think NYC would have any other reaction is beyond me.
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) October 15, 2018
After the match, Drake says he came to NYC for the best, not garbage. He says he wanted a top guy and that’s what he wants. Drake says he wanted a Hall of Famer, which brings out Abyss! Abyss lays out Drake with the Black Hole Slam and then pulls out a table. Abyss attempts to Chokeslam Drake through the table but Drake low blows him. Drake dives off the top but Abyss catches him and Chokeslams him through the table!
Earlier today, Tessa Blanchard cuts a promo about her match with Taya Valkyrie with McKenzie Mitchell. Tessa says that it is her night and she is the one “Bound for Glory.” She says that Taya calls herself “Lucha Royalty” but Tessa is “true wrestling royalty.”
Impact Knockouts Championship
“Undeniable” Tessa Blanchard (c) vs. “Lucha Royalty” Taya Valkyrie
Taya and Tessa start the match off with some chain wrestling before Taya breaks out some of that lucha experience with a pair of spinning headscissors, but Tessa comes right back with a pair of flying forearms. Tessa hits the ropes but runs right into a Spear from Taya. Tessa rolls to the floor to get away but as Taya climbed to the top, Tessa crotches Taya on the ropes and then connects with a Hanging Neckbreker onto the apron. Back in the ring, Tessa hangs Taya up in the ropes and hits a Hanging Codebreaker for a nearfall. Tessa goes for the Buzzsaw but Taya blocks it and counters into a German Suplex. Tessa sells the arm as she lands as if she hurt it on the landing. Taya hits a Running Hip Attack in the corner on Tessa and then a Double Knees, as well. Taya lifts Tessa up to the top rope and climbs up with her and hits a Superplex! Taya rolls through and locks in a Guillotine Choke! Tessa deadlifts Taya up and runs her back-first into the turnbuckles followed by a suplex. The fans chant “Tessa B ain’t nothing to f*** with.” Tessa and Taya exchange strikes from their knees and they continue the exchange on their feet. Tessa goes for the Buzzsaw again but again Taya counters, this time with a TKO for a nearfall. Taya attempts the Road to Valhalla but Tessa blocks it and connects with the Tessa Cutter for a nearfall of her own. Blanchard climbs to the top and dives right into a Chokeslam from Taya. Taya climbs up top and hits a Diving Moonsault for another nearfall! Taya grabs Tessa’s injured arm and locks in an Armbar! Taya transitions into a Curb Stomp and then locks in the STF! Blanchard reaches the ropes to break the hold but Taya catches her with the Road to Valhalla! The referee was out of position, fixing the ring apron (as Tessa had grabbed it when holding on to the ropes) causing him to be slow in the count. Tessa kicks out at two. Taya goes for the Road to Valhalla again but Tessa blocks it and then sidesteps a charging Taya, sending her into the ring post. Blanchard hits the Buzzsaw! 1…2…NO Taya kicks out and Tessa starts to freak out! Tessa climbs up top and attempts a Super Buzzsaw but Taya blocks it and connects with a series of forearms. Taya attempts a Powerbomb out of the corner but Blanchard counters into a hurricanrana that sends Taya crashing into the turnbuckles. Tessa dives off the top into a Super Code Breaker for the pin!
Winner & STILL Impact Knockouts Champion: Tessa Blanchard via pinfall (Super Code Breaker)
#BFGThoughts Great showing from Taya and Tessa with some awesome nearfalls and false finishes down the stretch. That Flying Code Breaker was insane.

Moose cuts a promo on Eddie Edwards saying he will finish their relationship once and for all tonight.
Moose vs. “The Lone Wolf” Eddie Edwards
Moose comes out with a few ladies that Callis sarcastically calls the “Moosettes” as his valets. Eddie brings “Kenny the Kendo Stick” with him to the ring. Eddie catches Moose with the Boston Knee Party out of nowhere early but instead of going for a pin he goes to the floor and grabs his kendo stick. Killer Kross grabs Eddie from the crowd and starts choking him.
Winner: Eddie Edwards via DQ
Kross and Moose double-team Eddie until Tommy Dreamer runs out and cleans house. Dreamer reminds Moose that they are in his backyard, Queens, and he calls the fans there “some of the sickest hardcore freaks in the world.” Dreamer asks the crowd if they want a fight and they make this match a tag team match!
Tommy Dreamer & Eddie Edwards vs. Moose & Killer Kross
Edwards immediately dives onto Kross & Moose at ringside and then Dreamer grabs a fan’s beer and spits it into Kross’ face. Dreamer then spits beer into Eddie’s mouth and he spits it into Moose’s face in a very bizarre moment. In the ring Moose and Dreamer go at it until Kross comes in and lays Dreamer out. Kross hits a T-Bone Suplex on Eddie but Dreamer and Eddie double team him and hit a Double Elbow Drop followed by one for Moose, too. Eddie climbs up top but Moose dropkicks him to the floor as Dreamer pulls up the padding at ringside. Kross tosses Dreamer into the ring post and then drags him into the ring and chokes him in the ropes. Kross wraps his tie around Dreamer’s neck and tosses him across the ring. One of the Giants at ringside shoves Moose and then Eddie suplexes Moose onto the concrete. Eddie hits a Frankensteiner on Kross off the top but Moose breaks up the pin attempt. Dreamer attempts a DVD on Moose but Moose counters into a huge Spinning Lariat. Eddie and Moose exchange some disgusting chops that Moose caps off with a Pump Kick. Eddie comes back with a Superkick and then they run into each other head first. Eddie connects with a Blue Thunder Bomb and both men are down! Dreamer goes for a Dreamer DDT but Kross blocks it only to eat a low blow from Dreamer. Dreamer hits a Diamond Cutter instead! Dreamer tries to hit Kross with the kendo stick but Kross catches him with a Doomsday Suplex! Eddie takes out Kross but then runs into a sick Powerbomb from Moose! Moose swings the kendo stick at Eddie but Eddie ducks and rolls him up for the pin!
Winners: Dreamer & Eddie via pinfall (rollup)
After the match, Kross grabs Eddie and tosses him into a Spear from Moose! Moose and Kross then Double Bomb Eddie onto the apron and a nasty looking spot.
Backstage, OVE cuts a promo on the lucha trio they are facing tonight. Sami Callihan says they are going to “take down the Machine” tonight.
oVe Rules Match
The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) and Impact X Division Champion “The Machine” Brian Cage vs. oVe (Sami Callihan, Dave Crist & Jake Crist)
This match is oVe Rules, which means anything goes. Cage’s leg is heavily bandaged as he comes to the ring and is limping a bit as he gets in the ring.
All six men go at it at the bell and exchange kicks in an Impact version of a Superkick Party! Pentagon and Callihan square off and give us flashbacks of their Mask vs. Hair Match earlier this year as they exchange filthy chops with each other. Pentagon belts Sami with a Superkick but then walks into a Pump Kick from Sami. Pentagon comes back with a pair of Sling Blade’s but then Dave Crist nails him with a Hanging Backstabber. Cage kills Dave with a suplex and then Jake shoves Cage into the ring post shoulder first. Fenix hits a Back handspring into a headbutt on Jake in a crazy spot and then hits a Springboard Flying Headbutt! Fenix is ridiculous! Fenix hits a Double Spring Moonsault! Fenix attempts a Back Handspring Cutter on Sami but eats a Dragon Suplex! Sami hits a Springboard Clothesline out of the corner on Fenix sending him to the floor. Sami Pump Kicks Fenix from the apron and then dives off the apron onto Cage, but Cage Powerbombs him onto the apron! Jake Crist dives off the apron but Cage catches him in midair and goes for a Suplex! Dave pulls his brother down and then they shove Cage into the ring post! The Lucha Brothers Double Superkick OVE and then Fenix dives through the legs of his brother onto the Crist brothers on the floor! Cage then Fall Away Slams Jake Crist over the top onto everybody! Cage deadlifts Callihan into a Superplex from the floor into the ring! The Lucha Brothers show off some insane double team moves as Pentagon rolls his brother into a cannonball on OVE in the corner! Jake hits a DVD on Fenix and then lifts Pentagon up to the top rope, but Pentagon escapes him and kicks his legs out from under him. Pentagon then hits the Hanging Ghetto Stomp only to walk into an STO from Dave. Cage Powerbombs Dave into oblivion but Callihan catches him with a Pump Kick. Callihan then tosses Cage to the floor but walks into a Springboard Enziguri out of nowhere! Jake Crist with a series of martial arts kicks to Fenix but then eats the Pentagon Driver from Pentagon! Fenix runs into a Lariat from Callihan but Cage hits a Lariat of his own sending Callihan’s head into the third row! Cage lifts Callihan up into a Buckle Bomb and then Pentagon and Fenix hit the Fear Factor/Ghetto Stomp combo! The Crist Brothers break up the pin attempt. Cage kills the brothers with clotheslines and then hits a Fall Away Slam/Samoan Drop combo on them! Callihan holds Cage as the Crist Brothers double kick him and then Callihan connects with a Hanging STO, but the Lucha Brothers break up a pin attempt. Fenix and Pentagon cave in Dave’s chest with chops and then Pentagon hits him with a Codebreaker. Fenix climbs up to his brothers shoulders but Jake dives out of nowhere with a Flying Cutter causing both men to fall onto Dave hard. Fenix climbs up top but Callihan shoves him onto the stage. Pentagon goes for the Fear Factor on Callihan on the apron, but Callihan rakes his eyes and then hits a Spike Piledriver onto the apron! Cage squares off with all three members of OVE in the ring. Cage backdrops Jake and then lays out Callihan and Dave with a double clothesline. Jake connects with a series of kicks to stop Cage and then OVE hits the All Seeing Eye! Cage kicks out at one and OVE cannot believe it! OVE hits a Triple Pump Kick and then a Triple Superkick. They continue to kick the piss out of him until finally Callihan spikes him with a Piledriver for the pin!
Winners: oVe via pinfall (Spike Piledriver)
#BFGThoughts That was an insane spectacle. Fenix is easily the best high flyer on the planet, in my opinion. Unbelievable match that was nonstop action from bell to bell.

Austin Aries cuts a promo on Johnny Impact and suggests that Impact only shows up when he has something outside of wrestling to promote. He says their feud has turned personal and he doesn’t trust Impact management anymore after what happened at the Hall of Fame ceremony. Aries says he will bring his guys to ringside with him. “This isn’t a reality show or some sh*tty B-movie. This is my life!”
The OGz and King brag about taking out Konnan earlier. King says they are going to be handing out lessons to LAX and show them what the street of NY are really like.
Concrete Jungle Match
The OGz (King, Homicide & Hernandez) vs. Impact Tag Team Champions LAX (Konnan, Santana & Ortiz)
The ring is surrounded by weapons and the canvas and padding has been removed from the ring leaving the wooden planks exposed. A big group of people accompany LAX to the ring including the rapper BodegaBamz performing their theme live. Konnan is nowhere to be found after the earlier attack. LAX lays out The OGz with trashcan lids but Homicie and Hernandez drag Ortiz to the floor and beat on him while King Chokeslams Santana onto the wood planks. Santana spits at King and then Ortiz lays him out with a trashcan lid. Hernandez headbutts Ortiz into oblivion and he is busted wide the hell open. Hernandez and Homicide set up tables in the ring and then they toss LAX to the floor. King goes for a Suicide Dive to the floor but LAX moves and King hits the guardrail. Hernandez Border Tosses his own partner, Homicide, onto LAX on the floor! Homicide attempts a Gringo Cutta on Ortiz but Ortiz counters into a Northern Lights Suplex! Hernandez attempts the Border Toss on Ortiz but he blocks it and hits the ropes only to get shoulder blocked into a table! Hernandez tries to Powerbomb Santana through the other table but Santana kicks him in the head sending Hernandez to the floor. Santana hits a Somersault Plancha over the top onto Hernandez on the floor! Santana kicks King in the face repeatedly as King screams that he is a “bitch” over and over. Santana suplexes King into the turnbuckles, which are not padded for this match. Hernandez climbs up top but LAX both leap up with him and Superplex him onto the exposed wood! LAX’s theme hits and Konnan makes his way out! Konnan kicks Homicide low and lays both he and Hernandez out with a flapjack. Konnan and King brawl in the ring until Santana kicks King in the back of the head! Konnan tosses King into the table and then LAX hits the Street Sweeper on King for the pin!
Winners: Impact Tag Team Champions LAX via pinfall (Street Sweeper)
#BFGThoughts That wasn't as good as their Slammiversary match but it was very unique and every one of those guys have brass balls for taking bumps over and over onto exposed wood like that. It was also hard to keep your footing on those planks.

Allie is shown climbing into a casket, after making a deal with James Mitchell, to travel to the Undead Realm. Mitchell welcomes her “home” and tells her that Su Yung is holding Kiera Hogan “in the chapel.” As Allie walks up the stairs, an undead bridesmaid attacks her and begins choking her until Allie hits her with the butt of an axe. Allie kills it with the axe and then kills another one with the axe. Yes, I just typed that out in the recap of a wrestling show. Allie sees her soul sitting in a corner, which she had to sell to Mitchell. Allie finds Hogan lying in a casket but Su Yung appears behind her with an axe. Su Yung swings the axe at Allie but she sidesteps her only for Yung to hit her repeatedly with a bat. Yung chokes Allie and then grabs her hatchet and stalks Allie with it. Yung puts Allie in the Mandible Claw and then pulls out a knife only for Allie to hit her with the hatchet. Allie saves Hogan from the casket and tries to escape the undead real. Mitchell stops them and reminds Allie that he promised to get her in but not that he would get her out. Su Yung’s bridesmaids appear again and surround Allie and Hogan until Rosemary appears! Rosemary attacks the bridesmaids and lays them all out. Rosemary rescues them and helps them escape the Undead Realm. Su Yung appears and pulls the hatchet out of her neck and squares off with Rosemary. The bridesmaids pull Rosemary down as Hogan and Allie escape.
Impact announces that they will return to PPV in January for “Homecoming” in Nashville, Tenn. at The Asylum where Impact held its events in the beginning.
Main Event
Impact World Heavyweight Championship
“The Belt Collector” Austin Aries (c) w/Moose & Killer Kross vs. Johnny Impact w/ Taya Valkyrie
Aries immediately goes for a takedown and Last Chancery but Impact blocks it only for Aries to lock him in a Hanging Guillotine. Impact gets to the ropes to break the hold but Aries taunts him as Impact kicks Aries in the back. Aries and Impact stalemate each other and are making this feel more like a legit street fight than anything in the beginning. Neither man is really doing wrestling holds or counters but more like just trying to fight each other. They get in each other’s face and start slapping the hell out of each other and then start punching each other, and one shot looks like it legit tagged Impact as he crumpled to the mat but immediately got back up. Impact clotheslines Aries over the top and then hits a Slingshot Plancha onto Aries on the floor! They slam each other into the guardrail repeatedly but then Impact leapfrogs over a charging Aries and lands on the apron and ring post before leaping backwards into a Moonsault onto Aries in an insane spot. Impact sets up for a springboard move but Aries shoves him off the top, causing Impact to land onto the guardrail. Aries pulls out the Savage Flying Axe Handle off the top onto Impact on the floor. Aries hits a series of knees and strikes on Impact in the ring and then starts to choke him with his boot as he talks trash to Taya on the outside. Impact backs Aries into the corner with knees and elbows before going for another springboard move only for Aries to shove him to the floor again. Aries sets up for the Heat Seeking Missile only to run right into an elbow from Impact. Impact follows up with a Springboard Corkscrew Cross Body for a nearfall. Impact goes for the Shining Wizard but Aries avoids it and rolls him up right into the Last Chancery! Aries losses his grip on the hold and then just starts kneeing Impact only for Impact to come back with a series of knees of his own. Impact hits a Springboard Enziguri for a nearfall. They connect with some stiff slaps and chops on each other until Impact lifts Aries up to the top rope. Impact climbs up with Aries and attempts a Spanish Fly but Aries shoves him off and connects with a Diving Rana. Aries hits the Roaring Elbow and then goes in for a dropkick attempt only to eat a boot from Impact. Impact attempts Starship Pain but Aries rolls out of the way and Impact lands on his feet. Aries catches a charging Impact with a knee and then hits a Hanging Neckbreaker on the apron. Aries climbs up top but Impact crotches him. Impact climbs up with Aries and hits the Spanish Fly! 1…2…NO Aries kicks out! Impact goes back up top and attempts the 450 Splash but Aries rolls out of the way again. Impact rolls through and catches Aries with an elbow. Aries and Impact kick the hell out of each other as they brawl on the apron only for Aries to hit a DVD on the apron! It looked like Impact tweaked his ankle on the landing, too. Aries climbs up top and hits the 450 Splash! 1…2…NO Impact kicks out! Aries goes for the dropkick in the corner but Impact catches him in midair and then drops him and connects with a series of spin kicks. Impact hits Starship Pain! 1…2…NO Aries grabbed the bottom rope! Impact goes for a Brainbuster but Aries blocks it and hits the Roaring Elbow following by the dropkick in the corner and the Brainbuster! 1…2…NO Impact gets his foot on the bottom rope! Taya talks trash to Aries causing him to back right into a backslide from Impact for a nearfall! Aries knees Impact in the head repeatedly and locks in the Last Chancery! Impact crawls to the ropes and reaches the bottom rope to break the hold. Aries gets in Taya’s face but then walks into a big right hand from Impact. They exchange strikes again capped off by a Heat Seeking Missile from Aries onto Taya on the floor sending her into the guardrail! Fans at ringside look lke they are losing it, screaming at Aries. Impact losses it too and goes after Aries slamming him into the guardrail. Aries rolls Impact up as they get back in the ring for a nearfall. Impact hits a Superkick and then a Brainbuster! Impact hits the Starship Pain again and gets the pin!
Winner & NEW Impact World Champion: Johnny Impact via pinfall (Starship Pain)
After the match, Aries stood straight up and looked up to the balcony (where I think Don Callis was) and flipped someone off. He then immediately walked to the back, selling nothing, and flipped off the crowd, while Impact looked genuinely confused. I have no idea if that was some sort of angle or what, but it was bizarre as Josh Matthews completely no-sold it on commentary. Impact celebrates with Taya as the show goes off the air.
BFGThoughts: That was extremely bizarre. Immediately after the pin Aries stood up and seemed to flip off Don Callis and then flipped off the crowd as he left, while Impact looked confused.
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) October 15, 2018
#BFGThoughts As far as the match goes, I loved it. It felt like a genuine fight for much of the match, which is awesome for a match with two guys that are supposed to hate each other. They built up nicely, too.
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) October 15, 2018
#BFGThoughts Aries no-selling the match afterward almost killed it for me, though. Whether it was part of an angle or not, that's not good for anyone. I honestly hope it WAS an angle, though. Otherwise that was yet another unprofessional black eye for Aries' career.
