Tonight marks the end of an era, as we say goodbye to an Icon after his final match in professional wrestling. This is AEW Revolution, friends, but more importantly…it’s showtime.

Opening pyro welcomes us to the show before Daniel Garcia makes his way out for our opening contest! Garcia heads to the ring before Christian Cage makes his way out next, and this match is underway!

TNT Championship Match: Christian Cage defends against Daniel Garcia

The two men circle around the canvas before locking up, neither man having an advantage until Cage takes Garcia to the ropes, which forces a break. The champ catches Garcia off guard with a waistlock takedown, but counters into a shoulder tackle that forces Cage to roll out of the ring for a breather. He regroups with the Patriarchy, yelling at the cameraman to stay out of their business before Cage gets back in the ring.

The two lock up again, with Garcia sending Cage into the ropes before Cage seemingly trips on the rebound. The ref checks on the champ as Garcia approaches, only to get knocked down by Cage who then hangs him up on the top rope! Cage taking another breather before getting back in the ring, taking control until Garcia starts fighting back.

Cage manages to get back at the challenger, driving him against the ropes until the ref forces a break. This only seems to gear Cage up more as he goes after the eyes of Garcia, who fights back to his feet before sending the champ into the corner for a flurry of punches! Garcia goes to mount up for some more punches before Cage slides out, sending Garcia to the outside before leaping from the turnbuckle to get the drop on him!

The ref begins the count as both men slowly get to their feet, with Cage sending Garcia back in the ring…and then against the ropes, taunting the challenger to “make his father proud” before being forced away. This riles Garcia up as he starts fighting back, hitting a dragon screw on the champion before locking in the ankle lock!

Cage is quick to fight back however, sending Garcia out of the ring…and doing it again when the challenger comes back in! Daniel gets on the apron but is soon knocked back off, with the champ telling the ref to start the count, and continues to fend Garcia off upon any attempts for the challenger to return. Cage distracts the ref while Wayne wails on the challenger to keep him from getting back in…but he manages to get to the apron at nine!

Champ and challenger go at each other on the apron with strikes now, sending each other into the ropes until Garcia fights back with a forearm strike! Garcia mounts up for some punches on the champ now, the crowd cheering him on all the while…before Garcia drops Cage from the turnbuckle with a dragon screw! Rollup by Garcia, but the champ kicks out!

Garcia gets another close nearfall, but Cage takes control once again! But the pain in Cage’s knee is becoming more evident, giving Daniel an opening to fend the champ off on the outside…and confronting the Patriarchy in the process!

Cage is brought back into the ring as he tries to beg off Garcia before looking for a sneak attack…but it gets blocked, only for Cage to catch him with the Killswitch for the cover! BUT GARCIA KICKS OUT!

Cage goes up top for a headbutt, but Garcia evades and locks in an ankle lock! Cage tries to sneak attack the challenger again, but gets caught with a back suplex for another nearfall! Cage grabs the attention of the ref as Killswitch drops Garcia with a chokeslam…and the champ hits a frog splash for the cover! BUT GARCIA KICKS OUT AGAIN!

Kingston slowly makes it back to his feet, bringing Bryan back into the ring…only for the challenger to go after the fingers of Kingston! Eddie gets a boot on the ropes to force a break, but not before Danielson stomps his hand.

Bryan goes up top while Eddie gets to his feet, where he gets caught with a missile dropkick by the challenger…who immediately goes back after the hand! Having had enough of this, Bryan goes back up top…but gets caught with an exploder suplex by the champion! This time, Kingston tries to roll out but Bryan keeps the lock in tight…allowing the champ to slam him with some hammer and elbows!

Danielson runs to the corner for a Busaiku Knee, but is met with a Hurriken by the champ…but Eddie’s hurt so it’s not as effective! Bryan kicks that hand before hitting a Busaiku Knee that connects, making the cover…BUT EDDIE KICKS OUT!

Danielson grabs his hands and starts kicking away at the head, before locking in a triangle hold shades of their trios match earlier this week! Only this time, the champ is fighting back to break the grip…even as he starts fading! The ref goes to check on him…and Kingston gives a thumbs up to show he’s still in it! The champ keeps fighting until he can gets a boot on the ropes, forcing a break!

Danielson looks very frustrated as he taunts the champ before laying in some kicks…with Kingston egging him on to keep going! Eddie drops down as Bryan goes for one more kick…but Kingston makes it to his feet! Half and half by Kingston, met with a similar fate from Danielson…only for the champ to hit one more on the challenger!

Crowd is riled up as both men slowly get to their feet to trade strikes, before Kingston hits a couple knee strikes to the head of Danielson…who responds with some hard strikes of his own! The crowd shows their appreciation for Kingston as we await whether Bryan shakes Eddie’s hand out of respect. Danielson looks dejected for losing after all that hard work in the match, frustrating Kingston until Bryan gets to his feet. Danielson offers his hand, only to pull it away at first. They manage to escape as the fight goes outside. Sting continues the attack as his sons set up tables, and Sting sends Nicholas over the barricade…followed closely by Matthew! Darby sets up a ladder as Sting goes after the Bucks…only to be cut off by Nicholas, but not for long as he gets dropped to the floor at ringside.

Matthew gets a sneak attack on the Icon but is soon dropped hard by Sting, followed by Darby getting the drop on the EVP. This is quickly followed by Darby et al grabbing a pane of glass, setting it up for future use before it ends up being broken by the bat of the Icon. The EVPs escape through the crowd, but the tag champs quickly give pursuit as they end up on the stage. Nicholas has Darby as Sting focuses on Matthew…and Nicholas hits a big Falcon Arrow off the stage, sending Darby through a table down below!

Matthew and Sting go at it until Matthew manages to send the Icon off the stage on the opposite side, sending him through a table on that side as well! The crowd let the Bucks know how they feel about that as Nicholas brings Darby back to the ring. Matthew follows close behind as Nicholas sets the ladder up in the corner. They grab him and send him onto the ladder, but Darby fights back to his feet right after and cuts them off from the corner!

Bucks get fended off by Darby now, who sends Nicholas out of the ring before landing some hard shots on Matthew! Darby grabs the ladder and sets it up near the ropes before going after Nicholas on the outside, slamming his head against the steel steps before setting him up on the other plate of glass that was set against some steel chairs. Darby begins making his way up the ladder, dropping down for a senton bomb…but Nicholas gets pushed out of the way at the last second, sending Darby crashing through instead!

Darby’s back is bleeding as we see Sting and Matthew go at it on the outside…until the Buck sends the Icon back into the ring! Bucks set up a table as they look for a double suplex, but Sting fights them off! The EVPs set him up in the corner, but the Icon gets out of harm’s way before going after Matthew after Nicholas falls to the outside!

Sting’s got Matthew set up on the table now…and he’s climbing the ladder! It’s a very tall one at that, but Matthew intercepts as Nicholas sets up a plate of glass in the corner…while Sting gets sent through the table by Matthew!

But he’s already back on his feet! Except the Bucks catch him by surprise, sending him through the glass in the corner! Matthew with a Scorpion Death Drop on the Icon and the cover…BUT STING GETS A SHOULDER UP!

Nicholas goes to the outside to get one of the tag belts, but Steamboat intervenes before the Bucks fight him off. Matthew grabs the title and slides into the ring…but Flair is covering the Icon up in the corner, refusing to let the Bucks do any more damage. He looks at Sting for a moment…and this gives the Bucks an opening to hit a double superkick on the Nature Boy! Bucks nail Sting with the title now and go for the cover…BUT STING KICKS OUT!

Bucks have a moment where they let Sting know they’re not sorry…they hate him, as if the reverse image of another famous goodbye before they hit a double superkick on the Icon…who stays on his feet!

Sting fights the Bucks off but they catch him with an EVP Trigger for the cover…BUT STING KICKS OUT ONCE AGAIN!

The Bucks are back on their feet, looking for another EVP Trigger and the cover…BUT STING KICKS OUT AT ONE THIS TIME! He’s egging them on for more, and they deliver a double superkick to take him down! They set the Icon up for a TK Driver, but Darby sends Nicholas flying to the floor as Sting hits a Scorpion Death Drop on Matthew for the cover! MATTHEW KICKS OUT…but Darby gets him with a Coffin Drop!

Scorpion Deathlock on Matthew by the Stinger…and MATTHEW TAPS OUT!

Winners via submission and still AEW World Tag Team Champions: Darby Allin and Sting

The crowd is electric as the ref presents the champions with their titles. Sting and Darby celebrate in the midst of a loving crowd inside the Greensboro Coliseum, with confetti marking the occasion as the Icon raises his title up high in the corner.

Darby says there’s three minutes left in the PPV, so let’s show some love to the Stinger…and the crowd in Greensboro oblige in kind. Sting thanks them for the love, saying he’s been thanking them since March 1988 when he wrestled Ric Flair. Greensboro was great in ’88 and they were great here tonight.

This was a night that will be etched in their minds forever, and this is a night he will never forget. He thanks the crowd once again, and the crowd shower him with chants of “Thank you, Sting.” Sting thanks Darby for being the best tag partner he’s ever had, wondering how many stitches he’ll need. Darby jokes that he said he’d die in this match but he’s still breathing. Sting talks about being such a risktaker even at this age, leading to chants of “You’ve still got it” from the crowd. Darby rushes over to the Icon, with Sting revealing he has cues to hold on…leading the PPV audience to believe he’s got a heck of a speech waiting for the live crowd, but the show comes to a close for us!
